Born Amy Buggan on October 31st, 1873, Amy’s parents would never have guessed the type of person she would grow up to be.

As an adult, Amy was a nursing home proprietor in Windsor, Connecticut. It was there that she met a population of unsuspecting victims who would be poisoned to death.

One of her victims would be her second husband, Michael Gilligan, in addition to the other members of the nursing home.

While we know Amy killed at least 5 victims, it was heavily assumed and considered that she killed more since her nursing home had 48 deaths in total after Amy took over.

The early life of this serial killer

Amy was born to James Duggard and Mary Kennedy and was one of ten children. Amy grew up in Milton, Connecticut where she attended Milton School and New Britain Normal School (sounds suspicious) in the 1890s.

When she was about twenty years old, Amy married James Archer in 1897. They had a daughter named Mary J. Archer in December of that same year.
