About Tyarra

Tyarra was born on June 18th, 1996. For the first few years of her life, her parents were together until they split up when she was around the age of seven. She was very close with her mom (Danielle), and her brother but there isn’t much information on her relationship with her dad. Tyarra was known to be a very nurturing and kind person. She did well in high school and dated some. However, her mom closely monitored everything that Tyarra did, including her social media. It was very unlikely that Tyarra was talking to anyone that her mom did not know of.

As Tyarra got older, her and her mom started to argue more. Her mom neglected to give her the space that a young adult needed, and Tyarra ended up moving out with her grandma in a small apartment. Tyarra was not angry with her mom, but she knew that she needed her independence.

In 2014, Tyarra graduated from high school and began college a year later in the spring. She was planning on majoring in early childhood development and she loved working with children. She also had a passion for working with kids who had disabilities.

The day she disappeared.

On January 7th, 2016, Tyarra was getting ready to go to the college and enroll in her classes. She was ready to begin a new chapter of her life. Early in the morning, she went to see her mom at told her that she was excited for the future. The two even made plans to go shopping for textbooks later that week. Before Tyarra left, they took down the Christmas tree with her brother and her boyfriend Aaron showed up to hang out. Tyarra, her brother and her boyfriend went to the grandma’s house and had dinner. They had no idea that this would be the last time that they would see Tyarra.

At 8:30 PM, Tyarra unexpectedly said that she was going to meet with a friend named Travis. Aaron didn’t know of anyone in her life named Travis, but he didn’t question her wanting to be the ‘chill’ boyfriend. She told them that she would only be gone for an hour. The two boys went to Aaron’s apartment with the brother to play video games but by 9:30 PM the boys started to get worried. They returned to the grandma’s house and waited for Tyarra there.
