More than fifty people entered a sweat lodge in Sedona, Arizona back in 2009. These people were promised to embark on a spiritual journey led by a motivational speaker and author named James Arthur Ray. This man promised his followers a higher level of consciousness if they were able to withstand the heat inside the sweat lodge.

The heat was humanly unbearable. Three people died and more than a dozen participants were hospitalized.
